Woman in 30s killed in horror crash on London-bound road from Kent

A woman died in a horror rush hour collision on a commuter road to London on Monday morning.

The driver, in her 30s, was involved in a single-vehicle collision on the A299 Thanet Way between Chestfield and Whitstable, according to Kent Police.

The road has reopened with only the London-bound carriageway closed pending repair works.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: “We can now confirm a woman in her 30s sadly died this morning following a single-vehicle collision on the A299 Thanet Way.

“We have finished our enquiries at the scene but the London-bound carriageway remains closed pending repair work by @KentHighways. Thanks for your patience.”

Kent Online reported another crash on the opposite carriageway involving two vans.

No serious injuries were reported.

Road users claimed the road was slippery after rainfall in the early hours of Monday.
