A woman has been hit by a car on a pedestrianised town centre.
Police confirmed today that the female pedestrian was struck by the motor at around 1.30pm on Thursday Kilwinning's Main Street.
Officials said that the woman was left uninjured by the crash and that a driver has been subsequently charged in connection with driving without due care and attention.
Cops also warned motorists that vehicles of any description are prohibited from Main Street from 10.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Saturday inclusive.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "About 1.30pm on Thursday, November 10, a female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Main Street, Kilwinning.
"Fortunately, the pedestrian was uninjured. The driver has subsequently been charged with driving without due care and attention.
"Drivers are reminded that a Temporary Order is in place at Main Street, Kilwinning - prohibiting vehicles of any description from using the Main Street Pedestrian Zone from 1030-1530hrs Monday-Saturday inclusive.
"Officers from the Kilwinning locality team have been enforcing restrictions on the Main Street as well as addressing issues of speeding in the area. Six drivers were issued with fixed penalty notices on Friday, November 11. "
