PUNE: A 26-year-old woman and her three-year-old son died, while her husband suffered severe injuries after a container truck hit their motorcycle late Monday evening at Shilatane village near Lonavla, about 45km from the city, on the Pune-Mumbai highway.
The Lonavla Rural police have identified the victims as Pushpa Sharma and her son, Yuvraj. “Sharma’s husband, Pavan (27), is undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital,” said an officer with the Lonavla Rural police.
The container truck hit the motorcycle while trying to overtake it. The mother-son duo died on the spot, he said.
