Woman held hostage by stalker swan who stops her leaving home says 'my life is a joke'

A woman has gone viral after being 'held hostage' by a stalker swan which would not leave her alone.

Siobhán, a mum-of-two, filmed the large bird trying to come into her home and even trying to prevent her car from moving as as she tried to leave her driveway.

The angry bird prevented her from leaving her home and she shared a clip of its antics on TikTok.

The short piece of footage attracted more than 47,000 views since she posted it with the video caption, ‘My life is a joke'.

The Daily Record reports that she said to the bird: "What’s your problem big man?", and "Are you going to just stand at the door as if that’s normal?".

It blocks her car on the road later in the clip and Siobhan is heard saying "excuse me pal, this is a joke. I'm literally being held hostage by a swan".

The bird, a protected species, lives directly across the street from Siobhán at a local pond but has recently become a determined visitor at her house.

It appears in the street and then on her doorstep and tries to get into her house which sparks shrieks and cries of "wow" at how tame it had become.

The feathered friend appeared to follow Siobhán wherever she was headed and was a constant presence as she tried to go about her everyday business.

It appears the fitness instructor eventually grew fond of the animal as she posted later videos of her going to the supermarket to buy it some food.

But when she presented a bowl of cabbage, lettuce, and cucumber, the swan hissed at her and tipped it over.

Siobhán's videos have garnered hundreds of likes and comments with Tiktok users in stitches over the bizarre love-hate friendship.

One person said: ”The swan is showing TV licence man behaviour.”

People observed the close relationship between the two and suggested the feathered friend adored her.

A second person said: “That swan loves you!”

Further posters responded and suggested the swan was Scottish and had anger problems which needed to be reined in.

Someone added: “It’s got anger issues, must be a Scottish swan!”

But other posters were fascinated by the big bird's behaviour and loved watching what it got up to.

A fourth person, meanwhile, said: “I am now invested in this swan."
