Woman has 'no intention' of retiring after 75-years in job

A 90-year-old carer who has been in the job for over 75 years has said she has "no intention" of retiring.

Mary Houghton came to the UK from Ireland when she was 16 and started working at Southport Hospital, eventually getting promoted to an auxiliary nurse which she said was the "best day of her life".

A week after her retirement aged 60 she started a career as a carer at a Tudor Bank Nursing Home. For her dedication to the industry, Mary was given the Lifetime Achievement Award this week by Caring UK.
