Getting a tattoo is a big commitment, so it's important to make sure that the artist you book your appointment with knows exactly what design you want.
But for one woman on TikTok, it seems her tattoo artist wasn't briefed on the art she wanted before their session - as her ink ended up looking completely different to the example she had provided.
Make-up artist Shelby Bryan, from the US, had wanted her tattoo to be a tribute to her mum and was planning on getting her mum's lip print inked on her arm just above her inner wrist, the Daily Star reports.

And although she got her mum to press her lips to a piece of paper to use as a stencil, Shelby's tattoo artist was unable to get the exact design right - and left her with ink that looks like "crayons".
In her video, posted on her @shelbycbryan account, the woman said: "I wanted a tattoo of my mum's lip print ... don't ask, I don't even know either."
Shelby then captioned the clip: "Tattoo gone wrong."
People were quick to comment on the video to express their shock at how bad the ink looked, with many stating it resembled a child's drawing with "Crayola markers" rather than a professional tattoo.
One person said: "Ma'am it looks like Crayola markers."
While another added: "It could definitely be filled in more! Hopefully, you find a better artist in your area that can help you."
But others weren't convinced the tattoo was even real, as some said it seemed as though it had been drawn on with marker pens and accused Shelby of faking the ink.
The woman then returned to TikTok to post another video in which she used a make-up wipe as well as soap and water to wash her tattoo and prove to the sceptics that her disastrous ink was real.
When the ink didn't smudge or fade, she said: "It's real."
Shelby also announced she's planning on getting it covered up, as she wrote in the caption: "It’s a horrible tattoo. I’m aware of how it looks, I'm planning either to get it fixed, covered up or removed!"
