A woman has been found dead at a home in Peterhead. Emergency services raced to Catto Drive in the Aberdeenshire town after the alarm was raised at around 6.15pm on Tuesday.
Officers were made aware of a concern for a 58-year-old woman at the property. Upon arrival the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police launched a probe following the discovery. The force confirmed this morning that a 30-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the woman's death.
Cops quickly taped off the street, with several officers and an ambulance pictured at the scene, which was locked down overnight. The force say there is no risk to the wider public and their enquiries to establish the full circumstances are at an early stage.
