Marrying someone doesn't only mean committing to the rest of your life with them - you have to take into account their family, and how you'll fit into each other's lives.
Getting along with your in-laws is something that many people fail to do, and any animosity can lead to awkward encounters when you all get together for big family events like Christmas or birthdays.
But one woman has taken it a step further by refusing to meet or even speak to her husband's parents - despite being with him for 15 whole years.
The Mirror reports that she'll avoid even saying hello to them on video calls, despite her spouse continually begging her to make an effort with them.
The woman explained her reasoning on the forum Mumsnet, asking people whether she was being unreasonable or not - and most were in firm agreement that she was.
She explained in a recent post: "I have never met nor appeared on video chat with my family-in-law." Clarifying, she added that she did actually appear on video chat to say "hello" once to his mum, before disappearing.
The woman continued: "They've also witnessed me trying to pass by without being noticed, walking on my knees."
The anonymous woman claimed it hasn't been an issue in their relationship, and when her husband's parents have asked to meet her, he's always made up an excuse.
But her husband's siblings have apparently started to ask more and more why this is the case, encouraging him to let them see a picture of his wife at least - to which the woman has refused.
And now, her husband has said "it's time" to speak to them in a bid to keep his siblings from messaging about it so often, but the woman isn't keen.
She added: "I hate appearing on film and would have no idea what to say. I feel the fact it's gone on so long just makes it seem even weirder to suddenly decide to talk to them."
The woman asked fellow Mumsnet users whether she was being "unreasonable" - and it turned out most people were baffled at why she was doing this.
One user wrote: "Yes you're being really weird," while another added: "Yes, you are the most unreasonable of unreasonable people on unreasonable day in unreasonable land."
A third commented: "15 years and you've never said hello to them? I find that strange. It seems natural to introduce yourself and make an effort to be part of your [husband's] family."
