A woman who hated having her photo taken because she was so "embarrassed" by her hair loss has been left overjoyed following a visit to a hair replacement firm.
Pensioner Brenda Vickers decided to undergo hair replacement at the age of 78, after living with hair loss for two decades, and people are now saying she looks a good 20 years younger.
Brenda, who avoided mirrors for years, had a £350 "hair system" attached at Novo Cabelo, a company that specialises in hair replacement and was left weeping happy tears at the result.
In footage shared to TikTok, Novo Cabelo owner Rob Wood could be seen fitting Brenda's new hair system, which was made using real hair.
Former admin worker Brenda, who suffers from coeliac disease, was blindfolded throughout her appointment and was left amazed when the eye covering was finally removed.
In a video that has clocked up more than 500 views, Brenda could be seen welling up, asking: "Have I got all this hair?"
Brenda, from Walkergate, Newcastle upon Tyne, said: "It feels good that I don't have to be self-conscious when I go out. I don't have to feel embarrassed anymore and think 'I don't want to look at myself'.
She continued: "It's changed everything. I'll go out more now because I can feel confident and that's an unbelievable feeling. Everybody who I've spoken to has been so complimentary and kind. My head should be massive.
"People have been saying I look 20 years younger, but I've still got the brain of a 78-year-old. My body is old but my hair is young. I've not seen myself look like this for so long."
Brenda's husband Brian was left equally astonished by the transformation, remarking: "It's like being married to someone 20 years younger. It's a good job I've still got plenty of hair as well.
"[The transformation] is beautiful, so I'm so pleased for her. It's spot on. You couldn't ask for anything better. I really got a shock when I first saw her. I found her very attractive. She's not a bad looker, you know?"
