Woman due in court over security incident on Easyjet flight at Stansted

A 20-year-old woman is due in court following a security alert on board an Easyjet flight that landed at London’s Stansted Airport.

Lucia Johnson, from Farnborough in Hampshire, has been charged with two counts of sending an “offensive, indecent, obscene, or menacing message or matter” following the incident.

Essex Police was called to the airport shortly after 7.40pm on October 19, following a “security concern on a plane on the ground”.

The force said: “Officers responded quickly and worked with our partners at Stansted to move the plane to a secure area so they could carry out enquiries.”

Three people – two men aged 19 and 23, and 20 year-old Lucia Johnson – were arrested.

Officers also searched the plane, but “nothing of concern” was found on board.

The two men have since been told they face no further action.

Johnson, of Farnborough, is due to appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
