A woman, aged in her 80s, has died following a horror crash between a car and a truck in Co Clare this afternoon.
The fatal collision took place at around 4pm on Tuesday on the R487 road between Kilbaha and Kilkee on the Loop Head peninsula.
The woman, who was driving the car, was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the truck was reportedly uninjured.

The road has been closed and local diversions are in place as gardai remain at the scene awaiting a technical investigation.
Gardai have issued an appeal for any witnesses of the crash or anyone with dash-cam footage to come forward.
A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are currently at the scene of a fatal road traffic collision involving a car and a truck that occurred at approximately 4.00pm, on Tuesday 7th March 2023, on the R487 between Kilbaha and Kilkee, County Clare.
"The driver of the car, a woman in her 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries to persons was reported.
"The road is currently closed to allow for a technical examination to be [conducted] by Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.
"Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
"Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the R487 between 3:45pm and 4:15pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí."
