A woman has died after being rescued from flood waters during torrential rain on Hogmanay.
The 55-year-old, who is yet to be named by police, got into difficulty in the River Tweed at Walkerburn, in the Scottish Borders. She was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where she sadly passed away.
The incident took place shortly after midnight on December 31 when officers were alerted to reports of multiple woman having come into trouble in the overflowing river near the small village.
