A woman has died after her car left a road and hit a tree. Police were called at 4.40am on Monday, June 13 after a white Ford Fusion left the road and collided with a tree just off the A50 eastbound carriageway near Shardlow.
Emergency services attended and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The affected stretch of road was closed for several hours on June 13 whilst collision investigation work was carried out.
The family of the woman have been made aware. Derbyshire Police are now appealing for information from anyone who was driving on this stretch of the A50 around the time of the crash.

They are particularly interested in speaking to anyone with dash cam installed which may have captured the incident. Witnesses, or anyone with information, should contact Derbyshire Police though their Facebook, Twitter, website, or by phone, quoting incident 22*336795.
Witnesses can also anonymously contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111, or by visiting the Crimestoppers website. Police have asked that if people have footage which could be useful for officers, it should be securely downloaded to another device and kept safely for them to view.
