A WOMAN has died after being struck by a lorry while crossing the road in Glasgow.
The 68-year-old pedestrian was hit by the HGV on Saracen Street at 11.10am on Tuesday.
Emergency services were called to the incident but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Scotland are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Sergeant Chris McColm, of the road policing unit in Glasgow, said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the woman who died.
“Our enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing.
“We urge anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us.
“We ask any drivers in Saracen Street around the time of the crash to check their dashcam footage and please get in touch if it holds anything which may be relevant to our investigation.”
