Woman charged with attempted murder after stabbing in Grange, Brisbane

A 44-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder in relation to an alleged domestic violence incident in Brisbane's north last week.

Police were called to the home in Grange at 5:20am last Thursday, where they found a 43-year-old man on the second story balcony with a stab wound to his chest.

He was discovered after a jogger on the street heard him making distressing noises on the balcony.

He was taken to hospital in a critical condition and is due to have surgery this week.

The woman has also been charged with endangering property over a small fire inside the house, which police allege was lit by her.

At the time police said books, clothing and curtains were allegedly set on fire.

The woman was taken into custody and then to hospital. She is expected in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
