A woman who blinded a man in one eye and stabbed another in two unprovoked attacks has been jailed. Cyrus Scarborough, 28, pushed her first victim to the ground before gouging his eyes, causing him to lose vision in one of them.
Just two days later, while on bail, she stabbed a man three times in the head, chest and neck and whacked him over the back of the head with a glass bottle. She has now been jailed for 18 years for the attacks after being found guilty of two counts of assault.
Sheffield Crown Court heard police were called to a pub in the city at around 3am on Sunday, April 24, to reports of an assault. Scarborough had launched an unprovoked attack on the male victim in his 50s.
She pushed him to the floor while shouting 'I'm going to kill you', police said. She then sat on top of him, before pushing her fingers into his eyes, causing to permanently lose his sight in one eye.
The attack only stopped when she was restrained by members of the public and arrested by officers at the scene. Just two days later, on Tuesday, April 26, she attacked a male friend in his house while on bail for the first offence.
The court heard how Scarborough stabbed the second man three times in the chest, neck and head and also broke a glass bottle on the back of his head. The victim, a man in his 30s, sustained serious lacerations, but went on to make a full recovery, police said.

Speaking after sentencing, PC Hollie Winkless of South Yorkshire Police, said: "Scarborough’s victims both suffered serious injuries in these two brutal and completely unprovoked attacks, one of which has left a victim with permanent life-altering injuries. I want to thank both victims for their strength and support throughout our investigation, and for their bravery discussing these traumatic and violent incidents before the courts.
“We have worked hard to achieve this result and we are satisfied with the sentence Scarborough has been served. She is now behind bars, where she cannot cause further harm.”
Scarborough, of Leeds, West Yorkshire, was arrested on April 26 after the second offence and charged with two counts of Section 18 assault. She was remanded into custody and found guilty after a trial.
