A woman was left blind in one eye by a man she treated as a brother in a vicious attack.
The victim has now spoken out about the ordeal and the devastating impact it has had on her life. She described Paul Reid as having a "Jekyll and Hyde" personality, with a terrible temper.
Reid, 47, of Rectory Close, Birkenhead, was jailed for 28 months after he hurled an ornament at his partner's sister leaving her worrying about whether she would lose her eye. Sitting in the dock, seemingly smart and well-dressed while letters in support of his good character were handed to the judge and the court heard he had never before been in trouble with the law.
