Woman and pet dog die in horror A82 crash with bus near Loch Lomond

A woman and her pet dog have died in a horror crash with a bus on the A82 near Loch Lomond.

Emergency crews raced to the collision involving a black Land Rover Discovery and a single decker coach between Luss and Inverbeg at 1.50pm yesterday. Medics attended and on arrival, the 64-year-old woman and her dog were pronounced dead at the scene.

A 65-year-old male passenger of the car was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment, where is condition is currently unknown. There were no other reports of any injures.

The road was closed for almost eight hours to allow police investigations to be carried out. Officers are appealing to those with dash-cam footage to come forward.

Sergeant Brian Simpson of Dumbarton Road Policing said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died in this incident. Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash and who has not already spoken to officers to get in touch.

“I would also ask anyone who was in the area around that time and who may have dash-cam footage which could assist to contact us.”
