A man has been arrested after a woman was allegedly raped in a Wirral park.
Detectives are investigating an allegation a young woman was raped on Wednesday, April 20. The attack was reported to have happened in Birkenhead Park at around 9.40pm.
Police have confirmed they have now arrested a 22-year-old man, from Birkenhead, on suspicion of rape. He has been released under investigation as enquiries into the incident continue.

The woman continues to assist police with their enquiries and is receiving the support of specially trained officers.
