An 85-year-old woman has tragically died in a collision in County Durham. The collision happened on Thursday, March 24 on the A689 between Stanhope and Eastgate at around 1.15pm.
A white Renault Scenic, which was travelling from Stanhope, left the road and collided with a wall. The two occupants of the vehicle were taken to hospital following the collision.
On Friday morning, Durham police confirmed that an 85-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the vehicle, has since passed away as a result of her injuries. Officers are now appealing for any witnesses to get in contact with them.

They would like to speak to anyone who was travelling in the area at the time of the collision and may have dashcam footage of their journey.
