A woman in her 70s has been charged in relation to an investigation into multiple incidents of theft between 1993 and 2023.
The elderly woman was arrested in May 2022 following an investigation by Garda personnel attached to the Department of Social Protection into fraudulent payments.
She is due to appear before Laois District Court on Thursday, July 6 at 10:30am, however, Gardaí have said investigations are ongoing.

In a statement, a spokesperson for An Garda Siochana said: "Gardaí have charged a woman (aged in her 70s) in relation to an investigation into multiple incidents of theft between 1993 and 2023 respectively.
"She is due to appear before Laois District Court this morning, Thursday, July, 6 at 10.30am. Investigations are ongoing."
