Woman, 60, charged after police allegedly find guns in a house

Police have charged a 60-year-old woman after allegedly finding two guns at a Dora Creek house yesterday.

At around 8.30am on Wednesday September 11, police searched a property on Dora Street where they allegedly found a double barrel shotgun and an air rifle.

Lake Macquarie Police District alleged they also found cannabis and firecrackers.

Police said the woman was charged with firearm offences following their search of the Lake Macquarie property.

The woman was arrested and taken to Toronto Police Station were she was charged with seven offences including supply cannabis, unauthorised person fail to surrender firearm, not keep firearm safely, possess unauthorised firearm, possess ammunition and handle explosive without an authorising licence.

She was refused bail by the police and appeared in Toronto Local Court were she was granted conditional bail until October 1 2024.
