A woman has been charged with murdering a Danish banker at their home in south London.
Polish national Joanna Cierpka, 51, is accused of killing Henrik Slotsaa, whose body was found at the property on Newington Causeway in Elephant and Castle.
Police had been called when concerns were raised about the welfare of the occupants.
According to Mr Slotsaa’s LinkedIn profile, he was employed by Citibank Europe plc. The 52-year-old described himself as a “senior banker with a career of over 20 years”.
Cierpka, originally from Gdynia, Poland, appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court flanked by two prison officers wearing a grey prison issue tracksuit bottoms and a matching sweatshirt.
The defendant spoke only to confirm her name, date of birth and address during the hearing which lasted two minutes.
Cierpka was remanded in custody ahead of a preliminary hearing at the Old Bailey on Thursday.
Mr Slotsaa, originally from Denmark, went to Copenhagen Business School.
Both he and Cierpka were directors of Metro Central Heights, a residents’ property management company, based at the same address in Newington Causeway.
The Metropolitan Police said: “The man’s next-of-kin has been informed and continue to be supported by specialist officers.”
Detectives appealed for anyone with information to come forward, no matter how insignificant.
Witnesses can call 101, quoting CAD 2142/16MAR26, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
