A 50-year-old woman has been arrested after a man was assaulted at a shopping centre in broad daylight.
Merseyside Police confirmed the arrest after they were called to the Strand Shopping Centre on Stanley Road in Bootle. Officers received reports that a woman had assaulted a man at around 1.30pm today (Monday, June 6).
It was reported that the woman also demanded money from him before taking his watch. The woman from Bootle was taken to a station and remains in custody. A Merseyside Police spokesperson told the ECHO: "We have arrested a 50-year-old woman from Bootle on suspicion of robbery after a man was assaulted on Stanley Road in Bootle.

"At around 1.30pm this afternoon, Monday 6 June, it was reported that a woman assaulted a man and demanded money from him before taking his watch. She has been taken to a station in Merseyside where she remains in custody."
