A woman was left badly shaken after being robbed from behind by a man as she walked in Ayr.
Detectives are probing the worrying incident which took place in a lane between Castlehill Road and Meadow Park Drive.
The 33-year-old victim was robbed as she walked on Monday, March 21 between 8pm and 8.30pm.
She was knocked to the ground by a man who approached from behind and then grabbed her bag which contained a two-figure sum of cash.
The woman did not require hospital treatment but was left extremely shaken.
Detective sergeant Craig Gilmour said: “We are working to trace the man responsible for this robbery and we would appreciate any help the public can give us.
“He is described as wearing a dark-coloured hooded top and a blue disposable face mask.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Castlehill Road and Meadow Park Drive on Monday evening who witnessed this crime, or who saw anyone acting suspiciously to contact officers.
“If anyone has personal footage that may assist this investigation, please get in touch.”
