Woman, 21, killed in M62 crash named locally as 'kindest soul' Kate Swale

A 21-year-old woman who was killed in a crash on the M62 this morning has been named locally.

Merseyside Police were called to the M62 between J5 for Roby and J6 for Tarbock Island just after midnight on Saturday, May 27, to reports of a crash. The motorway was closed for almost 11 hours following the crash between a grey Vauxhall Corsa and a silver Mercedes C180.

A man and woman were taken to hospital but the 21-year-old woman, a passenger in the car, has died. The passenger has now been named locally as Kate Swale.
