Wolves goalkeeper revealed what he did to help to save Nottingham Forest penalty

Jose Sa says studying was key to helping him save Brennan Johnson's penalty at the weekend as the Wolves goalkeeper revelled in an important victory over Nottingham Forest.

Sa saved Johnson's spot-kick in the Premier League clash to deny Steve Cooper's side a point and the result saw the Reds drop to the bottom of the table.

The Wolves goalkeeper's intervention was crucial given he was playing with a fractured wrist in what became a game of two spot-kicks with Ruben Neves giving the hosts the lead with a penalty of his own in the 56th minute.

Sa said victory over Forest was crucial ahead of a demanding period and explained how his penalty heroics came as a result of homework.

“It was very important. We had to win this game and we did, so we are happy about this result. Now we need to keep going and win the next one.

“For us to win the confidence and to fight for what comes to us in the next games was very important – we are happy to take this result.”

“I’m very happy to help the team because it was a very important win for us and of course I’m very happy to help the team reach these three points.

“We study all of the players and I’m happy to save the penalty. I felt that he would shoot to my left and I moved that way with everything, so I’m happy to save it.”

“We’ll keep going and keep fighting to score goals and I think they will come to us. We’re happy to not concede goals of course but we need to score too, and I think they will come."
