Wolves are contemplating managerial options with under-pressure managers Gary O’Neil and Julen Lopetegui set to go head-to-head when West Ham host their struggling rivals this weekend.
Uncertainty Over Whether Gary O’Neil Will Manage Wolves’ Next Game
Pressure has ramped up on Gary O’Neil after his Wolves side suffered a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Everton on Wednesday night.
His future is uncertain with the club sitting inside the relegation zone in 19th place after winning just two of their opening 14 games.
The Express and Star have reported that Wolves are sounding out potential new managerial options.

They claim that there is uncertainty over whether O’Neil will be in the Wolves hotseat by the time of their clash with West Ham on Monday night.
The same can be said of West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui who has also endured a tough start to the season.
Though the Hammers are six points and five places better off than Wolves, there is still frustration over how their campaign has started.
Who Will Be The Next Wolves Manager?
If the SportsCasting trader odds and the prices with the best football betting sites in the UK are to be believed then Gareth Southgate could be the next Wolves manager and replace Gary O’Neil.
Southgate left his role as England manager after guiding the Three Lions to the final of Euro 2024. Though insisting he wanted a break, some believe he’s ready for a new challenge.
It would be his first club managerial role since leaving Middlesbrough 15 years ago.
He is followed off in the list by ex-Porto boss Sergio Conceicao and David Moyes who left West Ham earlier this year.

And What About The Next West Ham Manager Candidates?
According to the best football betting sites in the UK, Southgate is second in the odds to become the next manager of West Ham.
Leading the way is former Hammer and current Middlesbrough player Michael Carrick.
The retired midfielder played 136 times for West Ham back in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Carrick was also part of Jose Mourinho’s coaching staff at Manchester United and had a spell as caretaker manager following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s sacking in 2021.
Other options high up the list for the Hammers according to the bookies include Graham Potter and Brendan Rodgers. Moyes though is far down the running after already having two spells at the club.

Gary O’Neil Addresses Future
Speaking to the media, Wolves boss Gary O’Neil has spoken of the importance about the game with Wolves amid uncertainty over his future.
He said: “I can only keep going until things change. As far as I am aware, I took training this morning, players that started have recovered, players that didn’t play have trained.
“You won’t find anyone more hardworking and professional than me. Last night we watched the game back, this morning we’ve come back in and we’ve watched it back again. We have started to get ready for West Ham and I know I can get the group in a good place to go there and give their best again.”
When asked about Julen Lopetegui’s respective problems, he added: “I haven’t even considered who will be in charge [of West Ham]. We obviously assume that Julen will be in charge.
“They have an incredible group of players. I think when you look at the amount of attacking talent that they have, what they have been able to add, it’s an unbelievably talented group that we have go and face on Monday. They have been in poor form, of course they have, but they go away to Leicester and have 30 shots. They have something there to work with.”
