According to new reporting from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, starting Boston Celtics big man Robert Williams III has successfully undergone surgery on the torn meniscus in his left knee Wednesday morning, and “is expected to return within four to six weeks — a timetable that could land him back in the lineup as soon as the second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.”
From the perspective of Timelord’s and Boston’s hopes for making a deep postseason run, the operation’s return timetable as about as favorable of an outcome as could be hoped for, as Wojnarowski notes “the extent of the injury allowed for a procedure that won’t require him to be sidelined for several months.”
It is unclear if choosing this timeframe could have any longer-term ramifications as operations to address similar injuries in Celtics alum Kemba Walker resulted in a significant loss of ability for the UConn product, but stay dialed in to this developing story for more details as we become aware of them.
