For the third time in the 2022 NFL draft, the Cleveland Browns have drafted a player from the Oklahoma Sooners. First, DT Perrion Winfrey and his amazing energy was added to the team. Then, WR Michael Woods II was added a short time ago.
With pick #223, the Browns selected another Sooner, DE Isaiah Thomas.
The 6’4″, 260-pound redshirt senior is the oldest player Andrew Berry has drafted this year. The last two seasons, Thomas had eight sacks in each campaign. He added four forced fumbles during that time and six pass deflections.
Thomas shows versatility on the field with the ability to slide inside or continue outside. His athletic testing was very good:
Isaiah Thomas is a DE prospect in the 2022 draft class. He scored an unofficial 8.91 RAS at the Combine out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 152 out of 1389 DE from 1987 to 2022. https://t.co/0bNqEmAinA #RAS via @Mathbomb pic.twitter.com/gfqgLi2hds

Thomas joins Chase Winovich and Alex Wright as additions on the edge to go with Myles Garrett. Jadeveon Clowney is still a free agent but most expect him to return to the team as well.
Offensive guards Marquis Hayes and Tyrese Robinson are the two highest Oklahoma players left on the board if Berry wants to stick with that theme.
With one pick left, #246, Cleveland has added three defensive linemen with Thomas’ addition.
