The New York Giants will not be signing former Buffalo Bills and Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky to compete with Daniel Jones this summer.
Trubisky has reportedly agreed to a two-year deal to replace Ben Roethlisberger with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Trubisky was the second overall selection in the 2017 NFL draft by the Bears and went on to compile a 29-21 record as a starter. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2018 and led the Bears to the postseason twice.
The Giants were in the running to sign Trubisky but they are struggling to free up cap space before the new league year begins on Wednesday. Trubisky had the Giants high on his list due to his relationship with head coach Brian Daboll, who was Trubisky’s offensive coordinator in Buffalo last year.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Trubisky ultimately chose the Steelers over Giants due to a potential competition with Jones. Money also likely played a part.
Mitchell Trubisky's decision came down to the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Giants. He was looking for the best chance to get back on the field as a starter and win games.

The Giants will now have to find quarterback depth in the bargain bin or the upcoming NFL draft barring some bizarre event.
