More than a few fans of the Boston Celtics breathed a collective sigh of relief when news broke that star forward Kevin Durant was rescinding his trade request to the Brooklyn Nets’ front office, particular those Celtics fans who have taken a shine to star Boston wing Jaylen Brown, the frequent focal point on the Celtics’ side of things in rumors tying the Georgia native to the Nets.
But now that there will be no KD trade to anywhere at least in the short term, what can we expect the impact on the NBA’s Eastern Conference to be? Where will the two ball clubs be in relation to one another, and the rest of their peers in the East?
In an attempt to answer this question as the dust settles on the Durant trade request saga, NBC Sports Boston’s Chris Forsberg and Eddie House talk over how they think things are going to look on the last day of the 2022-23 season for both teams on the latest episode of the “Celtics Talk” podcast.
