Those wishing to remember the late Queen Elizabeth II are able to do so in a Wishaw town centre church.
Wishaw Old Parish Church in the town's Main Street is open daily up until Saturday from 11am to 1pm to allow a quiet space of solace during this period of national mourning.
The church’s session clerk Tom Donaldson said: “We have taken the decision to open to allow people to have a quiet time for reflection.
“We opened last Saturday and since then we have had a steady stream of people coming in, it’s all about being there for the community.
“It’s all a bit surreal at the moment. I’m 72 and I can only ever remember her being The Queen.
“She was a gem of a woman, I think she barely put a foot wrong and I think that’s why so many people have been touched by her death.”
Meanwhile, Overtown Parish Church will also host two events in the coming days.
The church’s Facebook post states: “Overtown Parish Church invites members of the community to place within the church garden, their tokens of remembrance and respect for our late Queen Elizabeth II.
“The church will be open on Wednesday, September 14, from 11am for quiet time and prayer.
“On Sunday, September 18, there will be a Service of Remembrance held at 7pm to which all are welcome.”
A short service for prayers and reflection will also be held at Cambusnethan Old Parish Church on Thursday at 2pm.
And in Shotts, there will be a short service at the town's Cenotaph on Friday starting at 7pm, conducted by Rev Phillip Geary from the EU Congregational Church.
