The Wirral West Constituency Labour Party has been suspended.
Members of the Wirral West Constituency Labour Party (CLP) have been informed the party has been suspended following complaints being made. This means that the CLP cannot hold meetings at present.
Gail Jenkinson, who is a councillor for Greasby, Frankby and Irby and the chair of the Wirral West CLP confirmed she had received an email to her personal account on Monday confirming the suspension.

She told the ECHO: "As far as we are aware, there has not been any serious beach that would warrant this suspension but when we receive more information we will confidentially investigate this further."
The news comes after a dramatic week in the Wirral's politics that started with Wirral South MP Alison McGovern announcing she will challenge fellow Labour MP Mick Whitley for the new expanded Birkenhead seat ahead of the next General Election, with her own seat to be abolished.
The day after this was announced, sitting Wirral West Labour MP Margaret Greenwood announced she would be stepping down before the election, freeing up another Wirral seat.
But Cllr Jenkinson said the notification of the constituency group's suspension arrived on Monday before Ms Greenwood made her announcement.
She said she had received an email to her personal email account on Monday that the CLP had been suspended. The email arrived before Margaret Greenwood announced her intentions to step down but the chair said she received further confirmation with an official call from the region yesterday. Members were notified shortly after the call. She said the reason given for the suspension was that complaints had been made.
A Labour Party spokesperson said: “The Party does not comment on internal party matters or provide a running commentary on decisions taken in line with our rules and procedures.”
