Wirral venue gets 2am plans cut back over noise fears

A pub/restaurant in Heswall will not be allowed to open until 2am, after Wirral Council scaled back its demands by 90 minutes.

Hydes Brewery Ltd wants to open a pub/restaurant on Telegraph Road in the Wirral town, in plans which would see the conversion of a former police station. The planning statement claims 35 new jobs will be brought to the town as part of the proposal.

The premises, which are currently empty, will be used to serve food and alcohol under the plan. Today’s meeting of Wirral Council’s three-member Licensing Panel granted the premises an alcohol licence, but said the venue must close by 12.30am on Friday and Saturday nights and at midnight from Sunday to Thursday.
