A poster advertising a public consultation on the future of New Brighton mistakenly featured a picture of Southport's old swimming baths.
Those in New Brighton were closed and demolished after a ferocious storm in 1990 caused severe damage - but the picture in the promotional material features an historic picture of a totally different place.
Wirral Council has apologised for the error.

A public consultation is currently taking place on the regeneration of the Wirral town, along with Seacombe, for a "masterplan" due to be drawn up next year.
A spokesperson for Wirral Council said: "We apologise for the use of the image of the wrong swimming pool. The boards had been only used at recent events held in New Brighton to help stimulate discussion with people about the history of the town.
"The events had used virtual reality headsets as part of a unique way to help people visualise how the towns could look, and were part of the wider promotion of the consultations on the future development and regeneration of New Brighton and Seacombe. These consultations are still underway and we would encourage anyone with an interest in the future of Seacombe or New Brighton to have their say using our online portal which is open until November 25."
