Wipro’s Rs 15,000-crore share buyback, under which the IT services major plans to repurchase up to 60 crore shares at Rs 250 apiece from eligible shareholders, closes today, June 17.
The buyback opened on June 10 and covers up to 5.7% of Wipro’s paid-up equity share capital. The record date was June 5, meaning only shareholders who held Wipro shares on that date are eligible to participate in the offer. Investors buying the stock now will not be entitled to tender their shares in the buyback.
