Windows smashed in at chip shop where controversial owner shouted 'Lizard Liz is dead'

A fish and chip shop's windows have been smashed after the owner celebrated the Queen's death by spraying champagne and dancing around outside.

Angry Brits had already pelted Jacki Pickett with eggs after she she posted a video of herself holding a sign saying “Lizard Liz Dead” and " London Bridge has Fallen.

The anti-monarchist, from the village of Muir of Ord in the Scottish Highlands, may have regretted the move after a large crowd of unhappy people arrived outside to protest.

Such was the strength of feeling police were called to disperse the crowd who were berating the owner inside.

Officers were forced to close the business amid concerns for the owner’s safety and drove her home as the crowd booed loudly.
