A man was due to face court on Wednesday after he was charged in relation to the alleged shooting of a woman by two masked offenders in Gateshead.
Police searched a home on South Street, Windale on Tuesday July 7 where they seized several items before making the arrest.
They included ammunition, knuckledusters, and electronics.
A 21-year-old man was arrested and taken to Belmont police station, where he was charged with three offences including discharging a firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The man was refused bail and appeared before Bail Division court on Wednesday July 8, 2026 where he made no application for bail.
The State Crime Command's Raptor North squad continues to investigate the alleged shooting that occurred at a home on Tuesday June 30.
Police were told two women and two men were leaving a unit in Paper Street, Gateshead about 8.45pm when they were approached by two people wearing masks.
One of the offenders was allegedly holding a gun and fired two shots into the group.
One struck a 50-year-old woman in her upper right arm and another struck the window of a nearby unit.
The woman was treated by paramedics before being taken to John Hunter Hospital.
