Cold and windy conditions are set to sweep across parts of Britain on Christmas Day, with forecasters largely ruling out a white Christmas. Health and weather agencies have issued alerts, warning of potential impacts on vulnerable individuals.
The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has issued a yellow cold health alert for South West England, active from 6pm on Thursday until midday on 27 December. Simultaneously, the Met Office has put a yellow weather warning for strong winds in place, affecting the same region and much of Wales, lasting until 11.59pm on Christmas Day.
