Jannik Sinner dethroned his great rival Carlos Alcaraz on Centre Court to make amends for his dramatic defeat at Roland Garros last month and claim his first Wimbledon title.
The world No 1 lost the opening set – sealed by Alcaraz with a miraculous backhand winner from way back behind the baseline – but immediately broke at the start of the second set and continued that momentum to win 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.
