Wimbledon 2022: Dates, schedule and how to get tickets

Wimbledon has returned this summer, and the tennis championships is feeling a little more normal compared to recent years - notably with the return of the ticket queue.

Champion Novak Djokovic will be allowed to defend his title as Wimbledon organisers have announced that players unvaccinated against Covid will be allowed to play, after the tennis star was prevented from playing at the Australian Open.

When does Wimbledon start?

Wimbledon will take place from June 27 to July 10, 2022.

Wimbledon has released the following provisional schedule for this year’s Championships:

  • June 27: Gentlemen’s and Ladies’ Singles First Round  
  • June 28: Gentlemen’s and Ladies’ Singles First Round

How to get Wimbledon tickets 2022

Tennis fans can once again queue for tickets for same-day events, after the queue was closed last year due to Covid restrictions. Ticket resale will also return in 2022.

All public tickets will be available to buy this year, and tickets are limited to one pair per household.

Tickets will be distributed on the official Wimbledon app.

Wimbledon ticket prices

Wimbledon has introduced tiered pricing on Centre Court and No.1 Court this year, with seats at the front of the court costing more than those at the back.

Wimbledon ticket prices also vary based on the date and court:

  • Centre Court (Price band A): £75–£240
  • Centre Court (Price band B): £70–£230
  • No.1 Court (Price band A): £68–£160
  • No.1 Court (Price band B): £65–£155
  • No.2 Court: £43–£90
  • No.3 Court: £46-£90
  • Grounds passes: £8-£27

Hospitality packages prices start from £670.

Wimbledon ticket ballot

There was no Wimbledon ticket ballot for 2022–instead, people who were successful in the 2020 ballot and accepted the ticket offer have been offered the same day and court for this year’s event.
