Construction work to extend a huge business park in Wiltshire has been completed.
Helix Trade Park sits within the wider 160-acre Solstice Park in Amesbury off the A303, where many national chains of restaurants, hotels, supermarkets, gyms, and petrol stations are based.
The new development comprises 11 trade counters or industrial units, five of which have already been let.
DIY and trade retailer Toolstation has opened a new outlet on the estate, with Easy Bathrooms, Motor Parts Direct, and Pure Cremations also taking space.
Developer RO Real Estate said six units remained available, ranging in size from around 3,200 to 3,400 sq ft. Each unit has reserved parking bays with electric vehicle charging points and capacity for a mezzanine floor.
David Kershaw, real estate director at the RO Group, said: “We are very pleased to have completed this project on the A303 in Amesbury, a rapidly growing regional business hub.
“We were also delighted to have secured tenants at Helix Trade Park before we had even completed, having welcomed Toolstation as early as February this year. Solstice Park has become a thriving centre for business over the years and alongside the national cohort of occupiers we look forward to welcoming others at Helix in the months ahead.”
The 11 new units on Helix Trade Park represent the first phase of the development. RO real estate said phase two could deliver four warehouses ranging from 10,000 to 85,000 sq ft.
BusinessLive’s sister website WiltshireLive reported last month that Wiltshire Council has been asked to consider a further expansion of Solstice Park, focusing on a more than 60-hectare area to the east of the site.
Classmaxi and Lincoln College Oxford - the latter of which is the principal landowner in the joint venture - said plans to develop new work and logistics space on the site could help create more than 2,000 new jobs.
