Oscar-winning film editor William Goldenberg, celebrated for his work on films and franchises, is now taking a bold new step into the director's chair with his debut film, Unstoppable. Ahead of the film's digital release, Goldenberg sat down for a candid chat with ETimes, where he shared insights into his transition from editor to director while being backed by long-time collaborators Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, his stellar cast, and the creative process behind balancing truth and drama in storytelling.
Having spent over 30 years as an editor, Goldenberg explained why he turned to trusted collaborators Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, who backed the film through their production company. Speaking about their longstanding relationship, he said, “I’ve been working with Ben for about 18 years, and I’ve known Matt for several years. They started this new company, and coincidentally, I gave them the script to read. They loved it and decided to produce it for me.”
