Will There Be a ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ Season 5?

Mayor of Kingstown‘s fourth season has just drawn to a close, after delivering weeks of drama and criminal intrigue. While the Jeremy Renner-led show is just one of several Taylor Sheridan series to become a streaming juggernaut, the recent season finale has definitely left viewers eager to see more. So, is a fifth season on the way?

At the time of this writing, Paramount+ has yet to renew Mayor of Kingstown for a fifth season. But if and when that green light arrives, the story for those new episodes is already planned out… and then some.

In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Mayor of Kingstown co-creator Hugh Dillon confirmed that the plans Sheridan has for the series are mapped out through Season 7, which would serve as a pretty definitive ending for the series.

“Whether it goes that far or that’s where we get [who knows], but he has an ending and everyone knows about it,” Dillon explained. “And when you talk to him, he will tell you in detail. So, our goal is to get to that season 7, because that’s as far as we can get, because that’s where he’s always had it. 15 years ago, he had it. 15 years ago, ‘So, here’s how it’s starting, Mitch is going to get killed off in the first 10 pages, and season 7, episode 10, this is where Mike’s going to be.’ I’m like, ‘Holy f—, I’m in. Okay.'”

Again, there still isn’t official confirmation of when and how Mayor of Kingstown could return. But given those plans, and the continued hype around the show, it’s only a matter of time until fans get the news in one way or another. Either way, it’s safe to assume it will get a more definitive, straightforward ending than one of Sheridan’s other juggernauts of a series, Yellowstone.
