Fortnite in the past has had elaborate live events to cap off or kick off seasons in the past, but is one planned for this new season?
Players are wondering if Epic Games is planning to kick off Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 with a bang. Considering the middle portion of the map has collapsed, showing off a brand new jungle area, and Optimus Prime has arrived on the island with a Cybertron Cannon mythic, a live event would certainly make sense.
The last Fortnite live event took place at the finale of Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 (and by extension, the finale of Fortnite Chapter 3) and was titled Fracture. This live event saw players travelling through space in attempt to restore the destroyed Zero Point (which had been a major part of Fortnite lore for years). Fragment's finale was the Paradigm creating a brand new island – the one seen in Fortnite Chapter 4.
However, as of right now Fortnite Chapter 4 is yet to have a live event; by this point in Fortnite Chapter 3 we've had four events, so it's strange to see Epic Games go this long without one.
Will there be a Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 live event?
Short answer is no. Epic Games would have announced a live event by now and sadly no such thing has happened, and even if it hadn't announced anything, data miners haven't found any files relating to a live event either, which usually happens well in advance of a live event.
So the earliest we would expect a new live event is on August 25, 2023 when Chapter 4 Season 3 is meant to end, although even then this isn't guaranteed.
It was previously leaked by Twitter leaker @ShiinaBR that Epic Games is planning a Fortnite live event with the codename Durian, however this was dismissed as the name of the Chapter 4 finale event, set to take place at near the end of 2023.
Epic Games has been scaling back on Fortnite live events by the looks of things considering there hasn't been one in Chapter 4 at all so far. Chapter 3 had a significant reduction in the number of live events compared to Fortnite Chapter 2, but then again Chapter 3 had significantly less seasons than Chapter 2, so maybe I'm just looking into it too much. Regardless, let's hope a new Fortnite live event arrives sometime in the near future.
