The 55-year-old Oscar winner delighted the crowd by reprising his role as 'Agent J' from the 1997 movie Men in Black. Decked out in the iconic Men in Black attire, including Ray Bans, Smith joined J Balvin on stage for an extraterrestrial-themed performance.
Accompanied by alien backup dancers, Smith rapped and danced to the movie's theme song in front of a giant alien head. Towards the end of the performance, he used a neuralyzer to 'erase' the audience's memory of the MiB agents' presence. Despite the memory-wiping attempt, clips of Smith's performance quickly circulated online, generating excitement among fans.
Smith's wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, and son, Jaden Smith, were reportedly in the audience to witness his musical comeback. Jaden was seen hanging out with friends, including Justin Bieber, at Coachella the day before the performance.
Although Smith has shifted his focus to acting, he began his career as a rapper and released several albums in the late '80s and early '90s. His last album, Lost and Found, was released in 2005.
