Denzel Washington and Bradley Cooper were among the stars talking to Will Smith after the Best Actor winner sensationally stormed the stage and smacked Chris Rock in the face during the live broadcast of the Oscars.
Will's outburst came just after Rock poked fun at Jada Pinkett Smith's buzzcut, saying: "Jada, can't wait for GI Jane 2."
The sly jibe led to Will walking up on stage and slapping the presenter around the face before shouting: "Keep my wife's name out of your f****** mouth."
Will's wife Jada has previously spoken out about her decision to shave her head after suffering from alopecia, and has been open about the condition.
Chris referenced GI Jane as actress Demi Moore famously shaved her locks into a buzzcut to play the role in the 90s.
Fifteen minutes after the shocking incident that rocked the world watching the ceremony, Will ended up picking up the gong for best actor for his role as King Richard.
During his acceptance speech he revealed what Denzel Washington had told him during the commercial break: "Be careful at your highest moment… that's when the devil comes for you."
During another ad break Will could be seen chatting to Tyler Perry and Bradley Cooper who were trying to comfort the actor.
Scott Feinberg who was attending the event shared a short video clip with his followers on Twitter and penned: "During the commercial break, Will Smith is pulled aside and comforted by Denzel Washington and Tyler Perry, who motion for him to brush it off.
"Will appears to wipe tears from his eyes as he sits back down with Jada, with Denzel comforting Jada and Will’s rep by his side."
Also in Will's acceptance speech he said: "I want to apologise to the Academy, I want to apologise to all my fellow nominees. This is a beautiful moment."
He also added: "Art imitates life. I look like the crazy father, just like they said about Richard Williams."
Last night wasn't the first time that Chris Rock made Jada the butt of his jokes.
He previously joked about her in the past when hosting the Oscars in 2016, saying: "Jada Pinkett Smith boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna ’s panties—I wasn’t invited!"
At the time he added: "It’s not fair that Will was this good and didn’t get nominated. It’s also not fair that Will was paid $20 million for Wild Wild West!"
