Celtic said their goodbyes to Tom Rogic and Nir Bitton but how much surgery is required for next season?
Keith Jackson : With Matt O’Riley and Yosuke Ideguchi already in the building the squad’s in good shape in terms of numbers. Ange Postecoglou’s next challenge is to improve the first XI’s quality.
Three or four new starts should make Celtic oven ready for the Champions League.
Gordon Parks : Celtic’s squad just requires a quality addition in the midfield area and much will depend on whether Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers sign permanent deals.
Craig Swan : It’s more about adding quality than surgery. A central defender, a left-back, a midfielder and a winger would sort it.
Rangers go for Europa League glory against Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday. Who wins?
KJ: This tournament has had Rangers ’ name written all over it for some time. They’re good enough to get over the line in Seville even without a striker.
In fact, it feels almost fated.
GP: It’s been a superb European run but it’s the lack of attacking options and someone who can play a natural central-striking role that could prove the biggest factor in what looks to be a bridge too far for the Light Blues. A 1-0 defeat sadly.
CS: Rangers have no reason to fear Eintracht given their run and can win in Seville.
Rangers kid Alex Lowry has made a superb impact in recent weeks. Should he start at Hampden?
KJ: That will depend on what shape they’re in when coming back from Spain. If too many tanks have been emptied Lowry is more than equipped to step up against Hearts in the Scottish Cup Final. This kid has some future ahead of him.
GP: Having watched the 18-year-old shine against Hearts on Saturday, there should be no doubt Lowry should be in the frame and the Hampden stage would be an ideal platform to display his talent.
Go on Gio, throw him in.
CS: No. Fashion Sakala and Joe Aribo are the men for Hampden if Kemar Roofe doesn’t make it.
Hearts were beaten by a Gers second string side on Wednesday, will that have any impact at Hampden?
KJ: It won’t have done their confidence much good having been taken apart by a B team on their own pitch.
But Hearts will lick their wounds and come back strong at Hampden, while hoping Rangers have emptied the tank in Spain.
GP: Robbie Neilson doesn’t think so and he’ll also believe his players will rise to the Cup Final occasion so Saturday’s loss will be ancient history to a Jambos side in second gear at Tynecastle.
CS: No. The weekend game will have no effect on the match at the national stadium.
