You'd better take a brolly if you're planning a trip to the opening night of Nottingham's Goose Fair. Back for the first time since 2019, you might think the weather would be kind, but there's a high chance of rain.
The weathermen have been known to get it wrong but it's best to go prepared. The Met Office is forecasting a 50 percent chance of showers on Friday (September 30) from 1pm, increasing to 95 percent of heavy rain at 4pm, the very time the fair is set to start, and lasting for much of the evening.
Saturday (October 1) is looking more settled though, with cloud and sunny spells predicted and temperatures of around 15°C but there is still a ten to 20 percent chance of a shower. It's a similar picture on Sunday (October 2) with a mix of cloud and sun throughout the day.
The fair will continue at the Forest Recreation Ground until Sunday October 9. Traditionally the fun kicks off at midday on the first day but due to the extended run the opening hours will be different this year.
